Oh Scrap! I am still at it

Who said Waste Triangles are garbage? Not I for sure. This small quilt is 29" square. Each Half Square Triangle finishes at 1 1/8". I was at two retreats last fall and at both of them friends were throwing away their Waste Triangles. I couldn't let that happen. So they would bring them to me in installments and one just stuffed her's in a baggie and dropped the baggie off. I had a lot of fun playing with them and trying to make them into something useful. with the borders on them they are now big enough for the small Project Linus quilts.
As to what else I have been doing. It is a lot of secret sewing. that phrase used to drive me nuts but I totally understand it now.
Piecefully, Joanne

  2. This is the cutest little quilt. The border fabric is just perfect. Love that it picks up all the colors from the triangles. Great job! ;^)

  5. Great job making something lovely out of those HSTs. I admit I tend to toss them when they are that small. Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!

  7. Have FUN with your secret sewing!! I'm the crazy one in my group of quilting friends. You know the one? The one who collects those Bonus HSTs from others who think they are too small to sew with. Your quilt top turned out SEW cute!!!

  8. I prefer the term bonus triangles to waste triangles. There is nothing wasteful about your beautiful quilt. Congratulations!

  9. It just goes to show you that one person's trash can truly be someone else's treasure. That turned out beautifully.
